MLB 08 THE SHOW introduces SCOUT (SportsConnect Online User Tracking), which allows you to set and store your game preferences on the MLB server, and enables the system to look for a Quick Match with opponents that fits similar competitive criteria. Childs Play
Only played it a few times and hurried to find a sucker to dump it on. It in no way compares to the realism of Major League Baseball 2K8.
Best So far...
Okay, I won't rehash all of those above pro's and con's. This is simply the best baseball game around today. And hey, if YOU can build a better one- go for it! I will buy it!
I actually only have one question: I loaded music onto my ps3 converted it to mp3 like the instructions said, then made my playlist, and although the songs WILL play during the various menu screens, I believe I have yet to hear any songs play during game time. I do hear the pre-loaded songs play..."sweep the leg" whatever that means. At times I will hear a jumbled noise. Does that have anything to do with the bit rate? Like I stated my music will play during menus, but game time is different...any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks a bunch!!
Best Baseball Game Ever
This game has it all. The graphics are phenominal. There is a very in depth franchise and road to the show. It is great how you can fast forward through the games to speed up the play if you are short on time. There are tons of detail in the graphics and game presentations. There are fans going for foul balls, beachballs in the stands, if you let the game sit for a few minutes while pitching you will see players blowing bubbles, checking the wind, umpires talking to players, and much more. I would like to see a homerun trot especially after big game homeruns. It would also be nice to see players storm the feild after a World Series win. Overall the game is the best baseball game I have ever seen and played.
You must like baseball
I picked up the previous baseball game and returned it. B/c of these reviews I decided to buy it. I like it so far. I find the base running a little challenging and the instructional manual does not cover all the aspects of playing the team. I'm still unsure what SIMS does. I assume the PS3 plays the part of the season for you. You have to really appreciate the sport to sit down and enjoy it. I do like the idea of saving in the middle of an inning. I also like the season, but I'm still trying to understand how to manage the team. I'm still picking up on the game. Other than that the pitching, hitting and fielding is a breeze. I would recommend it.
has everything you want in a baseball game
This game does it all! You can play manager as well as all the players. The game comes with all the opening-day rosters for all Major league baseball teams. It does seem that each one of the players plays differently, and hits differently according to each players statistics. So by selecting different ball clubs to play against each other it does make a difference on the outcome. This game even has all the AAA minor-league baseball teams in it so you can play them against major leagues or against themselves. This is the first baseball game that I have played that really does play like baseball. The other baseball game I have is for the PC and it does not even compare to the quality of play of this game.
The graphics are incredible, all the players look so real, and they really do look like the real guy. This is the first PlayStation 3 baseball game that I played and I found that it takes some practice in getting the pitching good. I ended up walking a bunch of hitters before I could get strikeouts. For playing the fielders the game has a very easy and sensible control method and I found that it works very well. This game takes a lot of quick thinking just like baseball play really does.
So if you're looking for a baseball game that plays like one this one is hard to beat. It is very well thought out and the controls work very well, the graphics are fantastic and it has all the players and teams that you could ever want with their statistics programmed.
