In Metroid Fusion. you get to play the warrior woman Samus Aran as she battles an all-new threat! New action, new enemies, same classic gameplay that has defined Metroid games!

Metroid Fusion is a side-scrolling action game that's more in line with the series' NES origin than its GameCube contemporary, the first-person action game Metroid Prime. In this one, players take the bounty hunter Samus on an extermination mission through a research facility to kill X parasites--nasty creatures that absorb and assimilate the powers of their host. After she survived an X attack through the use of a vaccine made with X parasite DNA, she can now absorb the parasites to regain health and obtain special powers, like the morph ball, space jump, and wave beam. The problem is that the parasites are quickly making their way through the research lab's many dangerous projects and subsuming their abilities.

As a special bonus to GameCube owners, Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion can each unlock special features in the other game via the Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance cable. For example, by completing Metroid Fusion, you can unlock the original NES version of Metroid in Metroid Prime. By completing Metroid Prime, you can unlock Samus's fusion suit for use in Metroid Prime.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard!!!!!!!!!!

I did not even finish the game I got so stuck. The game has a good story line and remarkable graphics.but the action is stale and as I said before sooooooooooo hard!!! But because everyone else thinks the game is good I was able to trade for Star wars episode III a game that was actually good.Unless you are the most patient person in the world you should not get this.

Quite possibly one of the best games on the GBA.

After purchasing this game and beating it, I can most definitely say that it is EXCELLENT. The basic story of the game is that an alien parasite called "X" was found on planet SR388 by Samus Aran and some research scientists. The X parasite attacked Samus and infected her power suit, forcing the scientists to remove large portions of it, severely altering her appearance. A vaccine was created from a Metroid hatchling and used to save Samus bys killing all of the X within her. At the same time, her DNA was altered so that she could never by infected by X again, thus the game's title "Fusion." Samus is then sent to investigate an explosion on a research station holding the infected parts of her suit, which leads into an all out confrontation with the X. Enough about the story. The game looks very similar to and plays like Super Metroid. The graphics are some of the best I have seen on the Gameboy Advance. The music is also very good, and provides some very good effects during tense gameplay moments. The only aspent of the game that might turn some Metroid fans off is that a computer is constantly telling you where to go and what to do next, which usually means you are confined to a specific area of the station with a certain objective. This cuts down on the exploration aspect of the game. However, each area, especially later in the game, has plenty in it that the computer does not tell you about. Overall, the game is very good and I highly recommend it to Metroid fans and to adventure gamers alike.

Fun but tough

Good game but can be quite tough at times. Interesting for anyone who likes the metroid series and wants to know where samus' life is going. This game is the latest entry as far as the timeline of the series and without giving away too much, samus life changes drastically. If you like the series or a good old-school side scroller and don't mind a challenge, get this game!!

Why am I writting this now?

If you're like me you love metroid (hence the reason for my custom metroid plush-thingy beside me), and you'll love this game. It's as engaging as Zero (probably more) and is very good when you're sitting in a car for 2 hrs. Though the storyline is alot like Alien 2 (hence the name Ridley, the giant dragon thing, from Ridley Scott), so if you like the idea of a 'ally' trying to get an alien creature money, then you'll like this.(though for me killing baby metroids makes me sick - physically)I thought it was a pretty good game for a GBA game. I only gave it 4 Fun Stars because though it was fun it had that special Metroid repetetive-ness (i.e. 'Get to your ship(again)','Go to Sec. 5(again)'), and all that stuff.(and about the zero thingy it is way better[most likely due to the new storyline])

My opinion so if you don't like it , well, I don't care.
