GRID is all about the race- that period from lights to flag, full of tension, pressure, noise, and action. GRID will take you to beautifully realized and dramatic race locations over three continents to compete in an unprecedented variety of racing events. Packed with the most powerful race cars, Grid will let you compete to conquer the most prestigious official race tracks and championships and then go beyond to compete in challenging city-based competitions, through to road events and urban street races. In Europe, you will compete on the greatest official tracks in prestige Marques including Aston Martin, Koenigsegg and Pagani. Iconic cities across the U.S. - including San Francisco, Washington, DC and Detroit, each with their own atmosphere and events - play host to diverse street races. Here, high-performance V8 muscle cars set the pace in aggressive, closely-fought pack competitions. In the Far East, Japanese racing culture sets the tone where night races, including Drift racing, take drivers through neon-illuminated cities and to outlying mountain roads. There is also the opportunity to compete in races that operate on the fringes of legality in the back streets and industrial areas of Yokohama.

Best racing game ever!
(reviewed by my 12 year old son) Most realistic racing I've seen; really like the flashback where you can correct your mistakes. There are a lot of cars to choose from. I like the way you can design your own team, naming it, putting on decals and sponsors. Would be more fun if there were flags.
Lacks sufficient steering wheel support
The game itself really is excellent. Very competitive and could be lots of fun for this old geezer EXCEPT that my Logitec Pro steering wheel is not properly supported. Unlike, say, Gran Turisimo Prologue, the control over steering is no better than the joystick on the controller. Steering is gross and unhelpful. The problem is in the movement required, lock to lock; I'd guess it's 60 degrees. This makes steering totally unintuitive and gives no control. And there is no adjustment for the sensitivity. Just my 2 cents. But it sent me back to the admittedly less exciting, less competitive GT5. Do other wheels work better? (ie more like gt5)
Loved it from the minute I started playing
If you love racing this ones for you. It has almost every aspect of racing you can imagine. I think this game is a very good cross of need for Speed and Gran Tursimo.
Great game!
Overall great game. Easy to play on "basic" mode and easy to purchase and sell cars. The graphics are the best I have seen on any game to date. Worth every penny, all 6000 of them.
Hands down the best racer on any system
Codemasters does it again. Just brilliant! Codemasters racers have always been better physics, gameplay, and handling than the Gran Tourismo series. Sorry to say it but GT is boring as hell. Codemasters career based game structure always ensures you are challenged and the gameplay is fast and fun. Grid is no exception - they're significantly raised the bar on this one. I'd bet anything that GT won't come anywhere close to this for gameplay when they finally get their act together and complete the game.
The instant replay is an amazing addition to the gameplay. Not many other reviewers describe it here so I will do just that. You can read the other reviews for other features. The concept is that you get a limited number of chances to rewind time back to up to ~20 seconds and continue playing from that point. It's a fantastic feature that lets you analyze where you went wrong, see it again and again by quickly zooming back and forth in time, then play it from a selected point and hopefully get that corner right.
This adds a ton of strategy to the game. If you have enough replays left you can really push it towards the end of a race. If you wipe out, you can try again. Make sure you have replays left though! It sucks when you wipe out and realize you've used them all up!
